What is CLAT? How can I become a Lawyer in India?
Common Law Admission Test is abbreviated by CLAT. The test is conducted on rotation by 14 National Law Universities. It is the test for admission to prominent National Law Universities in India.This CLAT exam is for those students who want to take admission to integrated under graduation programme in law after 12th or for whom who cleared bachelor degree in law and wants to opt for Master degree in law.

Eligibility Criteria to Become a Lawyer:
There are two options to study in law as follows.
- First option is one can join 3 years LLB course after completion of Graduation in any discipline. After that one can join LLM or Ph.D. higher degree courses in law.
- Second option is one can join an integrated course of 5 years of BA.LLB.

- A lawyer is a person who learned law as an attorney, counsel or a solicitor. Law is the system of rules of conduct of society to correct the wrong things, maintain the stability of political and social authority and give a justice.
- There are some national institutes which conduct Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for allowing admission in Law studies like LLB and integrated LLB. The candidates who want to study from prominent national institutes must clear this CLAT exam.
- After completion of your law study, you have to complete the mandatory internship as per the rules.
- One has to enroll himself or herself as a lawyer in any of the State Bar Council under the Advocate Act, 1961. After that one can start own profession as a lawyer in any court.
