UPSC Corrigendum - Rules for Civil Services Examination 2013 and Press Note

Union Public Service Commission has issued notification for the Corrigendum of Civil Services Main Examination, 2013 under the EXAMINATION NOTICENO. 04/2013‐CSP. Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be conducted on 26th May, 2013 as per earlier schedule. No changes are made in it.

The commission has made some changes in the scheme of Main Examination for which, the Commission’s notice dated 05/03/2013 was published on the website and in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar on 16/03/2013.  The corrigendum was published in the Gazette of India (Extra‐ordinary) on the date 25/03/2013.

The changes are made in Appendix–I, Section–I under Plan of Examination and Section‐II [B. Main Examination]. The major change was made that language paper and English paper will be continue in main exam but the marks will not be considered for preparing merit list.

Another change was that candidates can give exam in any language listed in schedule -VIII (eight) to the constitution of India or in English. However, Paper-A and Paper-B must be given in qualifying language and the question paper will be provided in Hindi and English language only.

  2. Shall i fill the form of main examination of UPSC if i am studying in the last semester of my bachelor degree in mechanical engineering?

    1. Students who have appeared at an exam in the last sem of bachelor degree but have not received the the results will also be eligible for admission to the UPSC Preliminary Exam. They will have to produce the proof of passing the requisite exam with their application for the Main Exam.
